MAKEUPS! WEEKLY WORDS OF WISDOM:
BIRTHDAY FUND/JCC SCHOLARSHIPS The Birthday Fund provides funding to our 6 Scholarships at JCC. If you are having a birthday, or have had one recently, do not forget to donate to the Birthday Fund. Any student awarded one of these scholarships that returns to Jefferson for a second year will automatically receive the scholarship for a second year! Do you know that as a Rotarian, if you have children or grandchildren attending JCC, they will be considered for one of the scholarships if they meet the criteria?

Rose day is May 30th! We have 6 weeks to sell 2,500 dozen roses. Our original goal was to raise $15,000 which helps to fund projects such as the following... Tree
Planting We need each member to sell a minimum of 14 dozen -- we can meet this goal!!! As of 4/16, we have sold 62 dozen. There are loads of prizes for you to win -- just turn in your ticket stubs and money weekly, and you will be entered in a drawing to be held on June 4th.
The Board of Directors has decided that the Water Wheel will only be published every other week, beginning now! For example, the Water Wheel will go to print on April 10th for the week of April 16th, there will be no Water Wheel going to print on April 17th for the week of April 23rd, and one will go to print on April 24th for the week of April 30th and so on. If you have something you would like posted on the off weeks, it can be done by posting it here on the Rotary Web Page. You can have that done by calling or e-mailing Marsha at the Rotary Office or you can e-mail Lin Fields who keeps the web page updated. If you wish to have a notice in the Water Wheel printed, remember to give us plenty of notice! Marsha Anderson Rod and Rifle Show final figures: The final tally is in.... many thanks to Tom Hanley for his assistance. Our club raised $6,941.00 despite the bad weather! ROTARY FOUNDATION WALK - MAY 10TH This years walk will take place in the beautiful historic Town of Perth on the River Tay. The day will begin with registration at Camp Merrywood and you will have a light continental breakfast. The participants will be bussed to Perth which is a 10-15 minute drive. AT that time we will divide everyone into 3 groups depending on how fast you want to walk. Our tour guides will be able to give a brief description of historical places of interest along the way. The walk will finish at the famous Inga-va House which is the location of the last fatal duel in Canada. Our buses will pick up the participants at this time and take them back to Camp Merrywood. There will be time for everyone wishing to tour the camp prior to the buses leaving or after the walk. This is a great opportunity for anyone who has not seen the Camp to see where your fun raising money has gone. More information to follow. The cost is $32 US per participant. This covers the registration, breakfast, lunch, gift bag and bus transportation. Registration and check is payable to the Rotary Club of Perth, and must be received by May 5. If you have questions, contact Geoffrey Wickware at 613-267-2064 of email WICKWARE@RIPNET.COM Marsha has registration forms at the office along with pledge forms. Please note---
