Some tips for new members...

This area has been created to help new members to learn about the Sunrise Club and what is expected.

  1. Be sure to pay for your own breakfast now that you are a member. The cost is $6. If you bring a guest, it is your responsibility to pay for your guest.

  2. Next step - go to the Rotary Desk and sign in. This is very important for tracking attendance (and to avoid being fined!). You can either sign your full name or initial the sheet. This is where you may also buy tickets for the 50/50 and Card Game and any other raffles we may have. This is also where you will pick up your badge. If your badge isn't in yet, it has been ordered!

  3. You will be responsible to join a committee. In your membership packet is a synopsis of the committees of the club. Be sure to join in or one will be assigned to you. To join, simply speak with the chairperson of that committee.

  4. We have a Club Assembly each month. This is designed to allow the committees to meet within the framework of a regular meeting.

  5. You will be responsible to be the club's meeting "Greeter" and also to hold a Program at some point in time. It is assigned automatically and by alphabet. If you are unable to fulfill your responsibility to be the Greeter or hold the program, it is your responsibility to find yourself a replacement. You will also receive a Membership Roster.

  6. You will receive our club's newsletter, The Eye Opener, weekly. It is usually sent by e-mail so be sure that we has your current e-mail address. if you would prefer it to be snail mailed to you, it may be arranged.

  7. If you have received a Club Data Information form, please return it to us ASAP! Thank You.

  8. You will be receiving a lot of new information over the next few weeks. If you should get confused please speak with your sponsor, the President, the Secretary, or another member. We are all here to help you.

  9. When you come to breakfast in the morning, please try not to sit with the same people or group of people each week. This is a good way for you to get to know the people in the club , as well as a chance for them to get to know you.

  10. Try to be courteous when we have a speaker. Chitchat is frowned upon during a presentation (and it's a fineable offense).

  11. Try to learn the Four Way Test as soon as you can. You may be asked to recite it.

  12. Any more questions? Just contact your sponsor or our current Membership Chair, Jane Spencer.
